Bill O’Reilly on Glenn Beck’s Fox News Departure

Bill O’Reilly addresses the Beck-FNC news in his weekly syndicated column:

My pal Glenn Beck is leaving his program on the Fox News Channel later this year. This has caused great joy among some uber-liberals who object to free speech as well as to anything Beck. The Media Matters outfit took just seconds to misstate why Beck is changing venues, but what else is new? George Soros partially funds Media Matters, so why would the website ever say anything truthful when far left propaganda is so much easier to dish?

When you get past all the rubbish, Glenn Beck is really Norm, the guy on the sitcom “Cheers.” He sits on a symbolic barstool and vents. He sees bad things happening to his country and objects. Because his rap is so interesting, millions of Americans want to hear it. So what on earth is wrong with that?

If you just got off the plane from Mongolia and dialed into the left-wing U.S. media, you might think Glenn Beck is the anti-Christ. The hue and cry about Beck is downright hysterical. Why do they care? Beck isn’t an elected official; he’s not even a journalist. He’s just a guy with an opinion. So what’s the beef?

Glenn Beck Leaving Fox News (Mostly)

Today, Fox News and Glenn Beck announced that they are parting ways, for the most part.

Despite his monster ratings, Fox News is bidding farewell to Glenn Beck as tensions between the incendiary host and the top-rated cable news channel have led to a near-total divorce.

I say near-total because the two sides announced a deal today in which Beck’s production company will produce occasional content for Fox. But insiders say this will amount to a handful of specials and that many senior Fox executives are relieved to be rid of Beck, whose ratings have dropped 40 percent.

Beck, too, has tired of the friction with Fox and is said by people close to him to be happy to end the partnership.

Donald Trump has released his birth certificate, as the attention whore continues his “birther” crusade.  At this point, Trump is no longer a serious candidate.  The so-called “birther” thing is stupid.  Obama was born in Hawaii. Arguing otherwise just makes you look like an ass.

Is nothing sacred? The White House Easter Egg Roll is going green, so add that to the list of things that environmentalists have ruined.  It’s bad enough that I can’t flush my toilet because it uses almost no water. Now Easter is being destroyed by the greenie weenies too?

Short Takes: 3/21/11

A union mob, on strike from Pocono Medical Center, stormed into a Northeastern PA bank, demanding to meet with the bank’s CEO, who also happens to be the hospital’s chairman of the board.  I’m surprised they were so uncivil. Not.

Ralph Nader thinks Obama should be impeached for war crimes.  Silly me, thinking Obama wasn’t aggressive enough in taking military action. Personally, I wish Obama was committing more “war crimes.” By the way, why are radical lefties the only people worried about so-called war crimes? Because they invented the loaded term, those pinko bastards!  (I’m being facetious. Okay, only a little facetious.)

Sarah Palin, while visiting New Delhi (she heard they had good salami), claimed the Republican ticket in 08 would have done better if she was on top instead of McCain.  I’m pretty sure she was joking, but for some reason the people that never take her seriously have suddenly decided to take her seriously, suggesting that she was taking a dig at John McCain.
