Time to Dump Trump

Donald Trump endorses Mitt Romney (Photo: Reuters)

Liberals and the media (is there a difference?) are freaking out about Mitt Romney’s political alliance with Donald Trump.  Suddenly they are alarmed that a politician would hang out with a controversial figure.

Not a guy who blew up buildings in the sixties, not a guy who spouted anti-American sermons in a church, but a man who questions the authenticity of Obama’s birth certificate.

I’ve been very clear about my opinion of the so-called “birther” movement.  I hosted an episode of my podcast during which I debunked many of the birther claims.  These people are delusional ingrates.  Some of them are mentally ill (I’m not a doctor, but I play one on my blog).

Andrew Breitbart, Rest in Peace

RIP Andrew Breitbart 1969-2012

I was stunned by the news that Andrew Breitbart died. He was a warrior, fighting for the soul of America, and he will be greatly missed.

He contributed his energy, creativity, and bravery to the conservative movement.  He worked to bring more people into the conservative fold.  He fought for the culture, which he correctly saw as America’s most powerful export.  He battled the left, using their tactics against them and fighting fire with fire.

Our country has lost a determined citizen activist, one who put everything on the line to stand on principle.

Conservatives have lost a true ally and friend, a happy warrior who lived for the battle but fought for a purpose.

Responding To An Emailer Who Doesn’t Like My Pro-Life Position

Every once in a while I receive an email from a reader who wishes that I’d be sodomized by a prison inmate.  Others just call me names.  Some do both.  My most recent email is below.

Anthony Weiner’s Hard Times

Originally posted at The Right Wing Blog (of which I am Editor-in-Chief)

Congressman Anthony Weiner of New York is having a hard time.  You may have seen this photo:

This is the header from the "Weiner Facts" website. This is not the photo of Rep. Weiner's wiener, but of Weiner as a wiener. For the wiener picture, try google images. This is not a pornographic site, but you can still get a thrill from visiting it.

Here’s The Daily Caller’s recent update on the scandal known as Weinergate:

Rep. Anthony Weiner refused to answer questions outside his Capitol Hill office about how a photo of an erect penis covered by boxer briefs ended up on his Twitter account over the weekend.

In a brief gaggle with reporters Tuesday, Weiner was asked directly if the photo was of him, but he refused to say.

“I’m not going to talk about this anymore,” the New York Democrat said. “I think if I was giving a speech to 45,000 people, and someone stood up and heckled in the back, I wouldn’t spend three days talking to him. I’m going to get back to the conversation I care about.”

The tweet, directed at a Washington State woman, was removed from Weiner’s Twitter account shortly after it was posted Friday. He later said his account was hacked.

Weiner, wearing a coat but no tie, gave a variation of the same answer to multiple questions, including why he hired a lawyer and hasn’t asked law enforcement to investigate his allegations of fraudulent access to his account.

“I’ve put out a couple statements over the last couple days. I would refer you to those to answer these questions. I understand you’re doing your job, but I’m going to go back to work,” Weiner said.

Asked by The Daily Caller if he’s concerned about the seriousness of someone hacking into his account, as has been alleged, Weiner only said: “I’m going to return to working on the things I care about.”

According to TheDC, Capitol Hill police “currently [have] no active investigation into claims by New York congressman Anthony Weiner that his Twitter and Facebook accounts were “hacked” this past Friday night.”

And meanwhile, fellow NYer Chuckie Schumer thinks Weiner is innocent, so I’m guessing he’s guilty.

ATM Flashback: Cenk Uyger is an Asshole

Since I’m too busy/too lazy this week to create any original blog content, I’m looking back at the first eight months of the new ATM.  For those of you who’ve been following me since my nascent blogging days, you know that I originally started blogging back in February of 2008.

When I moved to Washington, I relaunched the blog with a new, more sophisticated design.  Since then, I’ve been blogging away, putting the liberal corruptocrats and their liberal media P.R. team in my sights.

Here’s a post from December that I encourage you to check out:

Glenn Beck Leaving Fox News (Mostly)

Today, Fox News and Glenn Beck announced that they are parting ways, for the most part.

Despite his monster ratings, Fox News is bidding farewell to Glenn Beck as tensions between the incendiary host and the top-rated cable news channel have led to a near-total divorce.

I say near-total because the two sides announced a deal today in which Beck’s production company will produce occasional content for Fox. But insiders say this will amount to a handful of specials and that many senior Fox executives are relieved to be rid of Beck, whose ratings have dropped 40 percent.

Beck, too, has tired of the friction with Fox and is said by people close to him to be happy to end the partnership.

Florida Pastor Burns Koran, Muslims Kill People

Remember that idiot “Pastor” from Florida who wanted to burn Korans?  Because of the public outcry, he didn’t.  Until last week.

The Rev. Terry Jones had threatened to burn the text in September, in the midst of a controversy over plans to develop an Islamic center near the site of the September 2001 terrorist attacks in Manhattan. He was eventually dissuaded through the pleas of religious leaders and government officials, including a phone call from Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates.

But when Jones announced in January that he was going to “put the Koran on trial,” he said he didn’t hear a single complaint. On March 20, Jones dressed in a judicial robe and ordered a copy of the Koran to be torched in a portable fire pit.

“It’s like people forgot about us,” Jones said Saturday. “But we kept doing what we do.”

The world was reminded of the 30-person Christian congregation at Dove World Outreach Center on Friday, when a mob incited by the burning of the Koran attacked a U.N. compound in Mazar-e Sharif, killing seven U.N. employees. On Saturday, related protests in Kandahar left nine dead and more than 90 injured.

Now everyone is blaming Rev. Jones for the violence.  General David Petraeus says the Koran burning endangers the war effort:
