Why Herman Cain No Longer Gets My Vote (And Why It’s Good He’s Dropping Out)

Perhaps it was a mistake for me to jump on the Cain Train.  By now, you’ve all seen the implosion of the Cain campaign, and it is quite clear that Mr. Cain was never quite ready for primetime.

Here are the reasons why I can no longer support Mr. Cain for President:

  1. His lack of foreign policy knowledge.  Initially, I gave him the benefit of the doubt.  I figured he could learn quickly because of his executive experience.  Unfortunately, he seemed to pride himself on being “a leader, not a reader.”
  2. Incompetent campaign staff.  Chief of staff Mark Block.  Enough said.
  3. Scandal.  Not so much the accusations but the way his campaign handled them by blaming Perry’s campaign, an innocent former reporter for POLITICO, and racism.
  4. He’s leaving the race.  Yeah, I should have written this post a few weeks ago when I first gave up on Cain.

It’s good that he’s leaving the race.  The Cain campaign has become a distraction.  It’s time for conservatives who supported Cain to move on and support the real conservative alternative to Romney.
