Around the World in 80 Words: 3/22/11

Power has been restored to part of one of the reactors at the Fukushima plant.  This is just a small piece of good news, considering that Japanese officials now put the total of missing and dead over 22,000.

China is cracking down on dissent—on people’s cell phones.  If you say “protest” twice during a call, the call will be automatically dropped.  No word on whether Obama plans to use this to reign in the Tea Party.

And protestors set Egypt’s Interior Ministry on fire.  The Egyptian people are transitioning to democracy very well, huh?
