The co-chairs of President Obama’s debt commission were on “Your World w/ Neil Cavuto” yesterday, and one of those men, Alan Simpson, proved himself to be either freaking hilarious or seriously out-of-touch with modern pop culture. Mediaite’s Mark Joyella explains what went down:
Out of left field, it’s Alan Simpson with the best clip you’ll see all day. The former Wyoming senator and current co-chairman of President Obama’s deficit commission was on Fox News Monday night, talking about the elderly and Social Security, but he made an epic turn midstream, and ended up on the grandkids and their pop culture. Now don’t be fooled by Simpson’s age and think he’s not fully tapped in to what the kids are listening to. He gets it. Oh, how it gets it. He knows “they’re walking on their pants with the cap on backwards listening to the enema man and Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dogg.”
Here’s the full quote:
“This is a fakery. If they care at all about their children or grandchildren, and sometimes I doubt that – I think, you know, grandchildren now don’t write a thank-you for the Christmas presents, they’re walking on their pants with the cap on backwards listening to the enema man and Snoopy Snoopy Poop Dogg, and they don’t like them!”
I played the audio on Tuesday morning’s KaibCast. Check that out HERE.
