WikiLeaks: Thinking it Over

I’ve been thinking about WikiLeaks a lot lately, and I have come to the conclusion that prosecuting Julian Assange and his organization for espionage would be a huge mistake.  As much as I find Assange to be a creep, his has, under current law, every right to give leaked documents to news organizations.  As a “journalist,” he cannot be prosecuted.  Only the leaker(s) can be tried for espionage or worse.  That means Bradley Manning will be going to jail for a long time, but he is by no means the only person to blame.  How anyone could have access to that much intelligence is beyond me.  The federal government needs to better secure sensitive intelligence.
