No, it’s not the name of the Speaker’s pop group, although she might have higher ratings if she wore meat to congressional sessions. In case you haven’t been listening to my radio show, the KaibCast, I will succinctly describe the current controversy surrounding House Minority Leader John Boehner, the New York Times, and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
This past weekend, the NYT published a story that implied John Boehner has deep ties to lobbyists. After all, the article is titled “A G.O.P. Leader Tightly Bound to Lobbyists.”
What you didn’t learn, according the the Washington Examiner‘s Tim Carney, is:
Nancy Pelosi has raised almost twice as much money from lobbyists this election as Boehner has
At least 18 House Democrats have raised more lobbyist cash this election than Boehner has
Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid have pocketed more lobbyist cash in the past 18 months than Boehner has raised in the past 6 elections, combined
Chuck Shumer and Harry Reid are both Democratic leaders in the Senate (Reid is Majority Leader and Shumer is the third-ranking Dem), yet I don’t see a NYT piece on their ties to lobbyists? Do you?
How silly of me to expect the Times to apply an equal standard to Republicans and Democrats. The NYT is a piece of trash not worthy to wipe your ass with.
Back to Pelosi, how the hell does this witch sleep at night? She made grand claims that she would “drain the swamp” Evidently draining the swamp is too difficult, or was she too busy pushing the health care takeover bill through congress? It looks like she had enough time for botox, so one would naturally assume she had enough time time to clean up congress. But did the old biddy? No. Instead we have two major democrats, Reps. Charles Rangel and Maxine Waters, being investigated by the House Ethics Committee. The saddest part of the story is that both will probably get reelected. Sometimes voters are stupid.
